About the Bursary
Shell offers bursaries to young South Africans for the 2026 academic year as part of its commitment to education and skills development. The bursary programme supports academically deserving students who are pursuing tertiary studies in fields aligned with the energy industry.
Fields Study Covered by the Bursary
Bursaries will be granted to students pursuing qualifications in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines.
Eligibility Requirements for the Bursary
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
.You must be a South African citizen
.You must be in financial need
.You must have completed Matric
.You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 75% in Matric
.You must have achieved a minimum result of 75% in Pure Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and .English in Matric
.You must be entering your 1st year of study, towards a qualification in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
.You must be starting your first degree of study
.You must be studying or registered and accepted to study at a recognised and accredited public university in South Africa
