Introduction
TalentHub is partnering with a specialist social care provider supporting vulnerable children and young people across the UK, to appoint a high-impact Head of Recruitment.
This is not an HR role — this is a hands-on recruitment leadership position. You will lead from the front, driving delivery, improving fill rates, and ensuring training course dates are consistently filled with high-quality, compliant Children’s Support Workers.
You will take full ownership of the recruitment lifecycle — from attraction through to onboarding, training, and final candidate sign-off — ensuring candidates are fully compliant and ready to support in complex care environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, manage, and develop a team of Resourcers, Onboarding Agents, Compliance Officer, and Admin
Drive a culture of accountability, performance, and high standards
Run team meetings, 1:1s, and performance reviews
Actively work within the team, leading from the front
Recruitment Delivery & Performance
Own and drive end-to-end recruitment delivery
Ensure training/course dates are consistently filled with quality candidates
Improve fill rates, time-to-hire, and overall efficiency
Monitor and manage KPIs including quality of hire, retention, and activity
Candidate Quality, Compliance & Sign-Off
Oversee full onboarding and compliance processes
Ensure all candidates meet strict safer recruitment and safeguarding standards
Take accountability for final candidate sign-offs, ensuring readiness to work
Ensure zero delays in compliance that could impact service delivery
Attraction & Pipeline Strategy
Develop and implement innovative attraction strategies
Explore and scale new channels (social media, referrals, partnerships, job boards)
Lead and grow the referral programme
Build strong, consistent talent pipelines to meet demand
Stakeholder & Operational Alignment
Work closely with Operations and Bookings teams to ensure correct candidate placement
Align recruitment with live demand and workforce planning
Use data to identify gaps, risks, and improvement areas
Hands-On Delivery
Conduct screening calls and interviews
Support with references, contracts, and onboarding
Oversee systems such as Credentially and Workable
Step in wherever needed to ensure delivery is not compromised
Key Focus Areas
Attracting experienced support workers for complex and challenging environments
Ensuring candidates are consistent and reliable (minimum 2–3 shifts per week over 6+ months)
Driving speed to compliance and sign-off, ensuring candidates are ready to work quickly

Desired Experience & Qualification
Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Minimum 5+ years leadership experience within a recruitment agency environment
Proven experience in international recruitment markets (UK highly advantageous)
Strong track record of managing teams to deliver against targets and KPIs
Must be hands-on, resilient, and willing to go the extra mile
This is a fully office-based role in Pretoria
