Website The Legends Agency
Introduction
Our Company has built a profitable, growing SaaS business serving automotive dealer groups across Ireland and is now accelerating its push into the UK market—the largest automotive retail market in Europe, with approximately 4,600 franchised dealerships and some of the world’s most sophisticated dealer groups.
To date, we have not had a dedicated on-the-ground commercial resource focused on the UK. This role changes that. We are looking for a world-class Account Manager, based in South Africa, who has direct experience working with UK and/or Irish automotive retail businesses—ideally someone who has previously worked in a remote capacity servicing these markets from SA.
This is a dual-mandate role. You will manage and grow our existing customer relationships in Ireland, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and expansion revenue. Simultaneously, you will proactively develop new business opportunities in the UK automotive sector, leveraging your existing relationships and knowledge of the UK dealer-group landscape.
Duties & Responsibilities
What You Will Do
Customer Success & Retention (Ireland)
Own the existing customer portfolio: Be the primary relationship owner for our Irish customer base. Ensure each account is fully adopted, extracting maximum value from the platform, and positioned for renewal and expansion.
Drive expansion revenue: Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts—additional locations, additional product modules (surveys, complaints management), and increased usage.
Conduct regular account reviews: Deliver quarterly business reviews to customer stakeholders, demonstrating ROI, surfacing insights, and aligning our roadmap with their evolving needs.
Protect the revenue base: Monitor customer health, anticipate churn risks, and proactively intervene. Net revenue retention is a core KPI.
New Business Development (UK)
Build the UK pipeline: Leverage your existing relationships and knowledge of the UK dealer-group market to identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities. Target major UK dealer groups, regional groups, and OEM-linked networks.
Lead outbound prospecting: Execute targeted outreach to group marketing directors, dealer principals, and CX/digital leaders across UK automotive retail.
Conduct consultative sales processes: Manage the full sales cycle—from discovery and demonstration to proposal and close—supported by the founder and product team.
Represent the company in the UK market: Attend selected UK automotive events (AM Live, CDX, CDK conferences, NFDA events) to build visibility and credibility. Travel to the UK will be periodic and supported.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in UK/Ireland automotive retail: You have worked directly with franchised dealer groups in the UK and/or Ireland. You understand their buying cycles, pain points, and commercial priorities.
Remote working experience servicing UK/Ireland from SA: Ideally, you have managed UK/Irish customer relationships remotely from South Africa. You understand the time zone, communication rhythm, and trust-building required.
Strong SaaS account management track record: Minimum 3–5 years managing SaaS customer portfolios with demonstrated results in retention and expansion revenue.
Commercial instinct: You are a hybrid “hunter and farmer.” You spot revenue opportunities, run consultative sales processes, and close new business.
Based in South Africa: Working hours must substantially overlap with UK/Ireland business hours (GMT/BST).
Highly Desirable
Direct experience selling or managing digital marketing, CX, or reputation-management solutions in automotive retail.
Knowledge of Google Business Profile, local SEO, and online review management for multi-location dealership groups.
Previous experience at major automotive technology or SaaS vendors.
Familiarity with major UK dealer groups and industry bodies (e.g., NFDA or AM community).
Package & Remuneration
Competitive base salary benchmarked to the international scope of the role.
Performance bonus tied to net revenue retention and new ARR generated from the UK market.
Travel budget for periodic UK/Ireland visits (estimated 4–6 trips per year).
Technology and tools: Full remote setup including laptop, CRM, and sales enablement resources.
Direct access to leadership: This is a strategic role with a direct line to the CEO; your insights will shape our UK market strategy.
